Sunday night, our apartment complex had a Running Dinner, which was really quite awesome in terms of meeting people.  For those who don't know, this is where 2 people make either an appetizer, main course, or dessert for themselves plus 4 other people, and then switch off to other apartments for the other meals with 4 other people.  (Appetizer at 7, Dinner at 8, Dessert at 9 for everyone.)

All in all Sterling and I met 12 new people (3 meals x 4 people each time) and it was a lot of fun.   Making the dinner was kind of a hassle because my sauce just did not want to thicken and so we couldn't start to eat until 30 minutes into the Dinner hour, but it turned out pretty good anyway.  Next time though I hope I get assigned to either the appetizer or the dessert because the main meal is always more expensive.

Anyway, afterwards there was a Running Dinner after party.  At first we met in another apartment, but there were so many of us that we ended up heading to the apartment complex's Party Cellar (der Partykeller) and danced the whole night long.  That was probably the best part, and we chatted with so many people and drank some wine.  There were around 30 people total... a lot more than I had expected, and so it made for an excellent dance party.  I wish there had been things like this in the U.S., and I think that if I get a chance to do so when I get back, I would love to try and organize something like it.  So good to meet your neighbors and then drunkenly dance with them afterwards, after we've all fed each other.
